Day 3 Missing the Good Weather

It was clear but cold (around 32 degrees) this morning and I had to drive in today because I've got to pick up a load of fabric while I'm in town. I'm excited about the fabric but bummed that I'm missing a good ride and the opportunity to wear this fleece bun warmer on my ride today. I see a snowflake on the forecast for tomorrow so that will be REALLY interesting. I might have to run the 5 miles in to work rather than ride. If I run in I'll do it in a new bun warmer!

The good news is that I figured out the appropriate dimensions to make more bun warmer skirts and will start making some for friends this weekend. I'm still trying to figure out the new serger I bought last weekend. I'm sure once I get going with it I'll be smooth sailing but right now it's sitting there half threaded and sad looking. I have some fun things to ship today, maybe I'll put up another post with a photo later.

Day 2 What am I Smoking?

Tuesday's bike commute was cold but the sky was clear which was awesome since we've been fogged in for days. Clearly, I am an Oregonian.

I'm not too into the look of these shorts but they are colorful and my bum was warm so all I can say is PEACE.

Put some photos of people in hats on the google map last night and getting excited about adding more!

Five outfits in 5 days

In an effort to make bike commuting fun, to challenge myself to try new things AND to be the most fashion conscience cyclist in Corvallis, Oregon...

I am wearing five different handmade outfits this week. Today started out with a good effort but I think I can improve. About 10 minutes before I was supposed to leave for work I trimmed some scrap fleece into a tube shape, wrapped it around my waist like a skirt, pinned it and carefully took it off and went for the sewing machine. A little adjusting and voila!

A bright yellow bun warmer is born. I was slightly late for work, but my cheeks were warm and now I have another reason to live this week. I must top this effort. I'm thinking tie dye boy shorts for tomorrow's commute.

Technology is cool!

Apparently, a blog wasn't enough of a challenge so I managed to get a photo gallery with a link to google maps going and now I can put up photos with a map. WOW! I'm still trying to understand all of it, but the photo gallery is on tribabe.smugmug.com and the google map photos are at maps.smugmug.com username tribabe. I'm going to have to encourage people to send me photos of their hats to add them to this map. It's exciting to me, we'll see if anyone else cares.

I put this photo of myself on the map, this is from our mountain bike trip around Waldo Lake this summer. I thought the 20 mile loop would take two hours. HA HA!

I don' t know how to do this blogging thing

I guess I'm going to figure this out as I go, I don't know a lot about blogs but I do want to keep track of some of this madness I'm cooking up. I especially want people to send photos of hats and bags I've made for them. I guess that's a plan, I'm just not exactly sure how this blogging thing works yet.
